Journey through the mist (Writing)

 I slowly opened my eyes, everything was so blurry. I stood up and brushed off the dirt on my pants, “Where am I?” I questioned. The last thing I remember was me falling through a hole. Wait, did that portal take me to another country? “NEIGGHH” a horse came out of nowhere and almost hit me! “Watch out cowboy, your horse almost crashed into me.” I said angrily, “Uh, sorry.. My horse is a bit grumpy today.” He apologized. Time was of the essence, I need to get back home before the portal disappears or I’ll be stuck here FOREVEERR! “Hey, I’m very sorry about my horse so would you like a ride? It looks like you need help.” He asked, “Sure, that will be much easier finding the portal back home!” He jumped on the horse and went searching..

My Titipounamu Writing

 Kia Ora everyone, here is my Titipounamu writing! It is not finished yet, but I hope you enjoy some of the writing I have done! :)

The Titipounamu lives in New Zealandia, they are tiny birds and they weigh about 6 paperclips! The people have to put little traps around the Titipounamu’s trees because there are vicious rats living in the forest and they will try and capture them.

One early morning, I hear my baby chicks chirping “Chirp, chirp! Mummy were hungry!” So I left the nest and went to find some berries and worms for my chicks. Suddenly, when I headed back I see a sneaky grey rat on the bottom of my tree licking his lips.. I quietly went inside my nest and fed them the worms. Quickly, I grabbed something to protect my chicks and went outside to see the rat has already avoided all the traps! He was showing me his yellow bucked teeth ready to have me for lunch! The nasty rat slowly climbed up the tree, I started panicking. “What do I do..” I chirped, He was getting close.. I began to flap my wings

Coin Operated (Third Person)

 Kia Ora everybody, Room 7 had to watch a video called "Coin Operated" and write about it.

 Here is my writing!

Third Person: 

On a sunny morning, a young boy named Michael was walking to the shops while playing with his toy rocket ship. When he reached the shops, he found a bigger rocket ship he could ride on! He begged his mum to ride on it, Michael pulled out a coin and put it in. He excitedly jumped on thinking he would fly to space. Suddenly, Michael was so disappointed. The rocket ship only moved around in one spot. He took off his space helmet and threw it on the ground. But Michael didn’t want to give up, he had an idea and decided to save up money and open a lemonade stand! Michael got older and was still selling lemonade, he saved up a lot of money. He closed his lemonade stand and went back to the rocket ship, he poured all of his coins in and put his space helmet back on. Michael jumped back on the rocket ship, it wouldn’t move. He felt really angry and punched the rocket ship, the coins dropped down and he started flying to space!

The Present (The Boy POV)

Kia Ora everybody, I had to do a writing based of a video called "The Present" I have written 3 points of view but I picked this one because it was my favourite.

First Person (The Boy): 

“I’m home!” mum yelled while shutting the front door. My eyes were glued to the tv, she placed a cardboard box on the table. “You should open it!” mum said, I put my controller down and opened the box. “Wow!” I said, it was a puppy! I was so happy, until I looked up and down and saw one of his legs was missing! I was so angry, I threw the puppy on the floor and continued to play my video games. On the corner of my eye, I saw the puppy  playing with a red ball. He ran to me and gave the ball, “No, get away!” I yelled at the puppy and kicked him. The puppy kept playing with his ball but got stuck in a box, he lifted the box and I started to giggle. I began to realize that even if there was something different about you, you can still have fun no matter what. So I grabbed my crutches and yelled “ Mum, we’ll be outside!”

 

Seven Stars of Matariki!

Lila's Legend Of Wairaka!

Room 7 have been learning the legend of Wairaka and how she saved her tribe! We were suppose to retell the story, here is some of my writing about Wairaka. Have you heard about the legend of Wairaka?

Problem:

The waka was rocking back and forth, it was raining hard. The children were crying and the women were panicking! There were no men paddling the waka and the women weren’t allowed to use the paddle because it was tapu (sacred) back then. In the distance, they realized that they were heading towards the jagged rocks! Wairaka watched the women and children crying for help. Since she was Chief Toroa’s daughter, Wairaka had to figure out how to save her tribe. Suddenly, Wairaka stood up and made a courageous decision..

My Hot Air Balloon Writing!

 Kia Ora everybody, here is my Similes and Metaphors Writing! I had to write at least 1 simile and                                                            metaphor about the hot air balloon!

It was a beautiful sunset, I saw a hot air balloon floating above me like a feather. The water was a shining crystal. As I was watching the hot air balloon, I felt a soft breeze rushing on my back. Slowly, the hot air balloon floated past  the fluffy clouds.

My sick sentence I fixed: It was a lovely sunset, the hot air balloon was floating like a feather. The water was a beautiful crystal.

The Troll Writing

  

The troll slowly stomped down the street. He seemed very confused because of the people staring at him. The sailboat the troll was holding was the size of a house! His body and eyes were covered in grass, trees were also growing out of his back. It  looked like he was lost and he’s trying to find a way home. 

My sick sentence I fixed:

The troll stomped down the street like a gorilla. He had a gigantic nose and sharp, yellow teeth. Trees were growing out of his back

Abandoned House Writing

 

I slowly walked through the creepy forest. It was a dark and spooky night.. I kept on walking until I spotted a mysterious, abandoned house with bright, red lights glowing from the windows. I had goosebumps all over my body and my heart started pounding.. Bats were swooping past my head, I took a deep breath and walked through the fog..

My sick sentence I fixed: I slowly walked through the mysterious forest. It was so dark and foggy.. I spotted a spooky, abandoned house with red lights. I hear the trees rustling and I felt the cold breeze on my back.

Kia Ora, today I learnt how to use piskel in Room 10! I really enjoyed drawing it, it was really fun.

A Mysterious Shadow

Silently, the shadow leaped across the garden. I see a neon green gate with a lock. The

mysterious shadow started lurking towards the green gate, he or she looks like they are

wearing a hood. I spot them touching the lock trying to open it?.. I hear quiet footsteps and a

gate opening. I wonder if the creepy shadow is trying to find something OR someone behind the green gate..

The Tunnel in my Backyard!

I notice the beautiful waterfall rushing through the glistening river, I spotted a small mysterious cave behind the waterfall. I hear 3 boys talking about the sea creatures and birds chirping in the sky. I feel the freezing wind rushing on my back and the ice cold water splashing on my face. I see white fluffy clouds covering the gloomy, grey sky and eels slithering their way up the gigantic rocks.
